Khrōma
At the heart of Khrōma lies an exploration of presence and perception—an inquiry into the layers of meaning, intensity, and resonance that shape our experience of art and the nature of objects. Deriving from the ancient root of “chroma”, which denotes the purity and saturation of colour, Khrōma transcends its literal meaning to evoke a conceptual richness: the quality by which form, material, and idea are imbued with depth and clarity.
This exhibition does not simply celebrate colour as a visual stimulus—it investigates chroma as a metaphor for the heightened states of awareness and sensitivity that art can awaken. Each work pulses with its own unique vibrational signature, a “saturation” of narratives, histories, and possibilities that challenge conventional boundaries and invite immersive engagement.
Khrōma is a reimagining of objet d’art that emphasises the tension and harmony between presence and absence, opacity and transparency, surface and depth. It is an invitation to experience objects not just as decorative artefacts but as dynamic vessels carrying layers of cultural, ecological, and conceptual significance.
